Meet our District Nurses
Sandy Hanson, M.Ed., BSN, RN
Inyokern, Las Flores, Richmond, Murray
Mrs. Hanson received her Bachelor of Nursing degree from Winona State University in Winona, MN, and her Master of Education degree from Cambridge College in Cambridge, MA. Mrs. Hanson received her CA School Nurse Services Credential through Fresno State University. She was a School Nurse in the Midwest before moving to Ridgecrest in 2013. Mrs. Hanson has been with Sierra Sands since 2016 and currently serves Inyokern Elementary, Las Flores Elementary, Richmond Elementary, and Murray Middle School. She is passionate about student health and learning. Mrs. Hanson strives to reduce health-related barriers that students encounter to promote student development and learning.
Jesse Clayson, RN
Faller, Gateway, Pierce, Monroe
Mr. Clayson graduated with his Bachelor of Nursing degree from Idaho State University in Pocatello, ID. He has worked in a variety of positions as a Registered Nurse including the emergency room, pediatrics, labor and delivery, and insurance. Mr. Clayson has been with Sierra Sands for several years now and works incredibly well with our youth. He currently serves Faller Elementary, Gateway Elementary, Pierce Elementary, and James Monroe Middle School.
Emily Flack RN, BSN
Burroughs, Mesquite
Mrs. Flack graduated with her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from Roseman University of Health Sciences in 2016. She worked as a Registered Nurse in several different specialties including Medical-Surgical, ICU, and the Emergency Room prior to joining the nursing team for Sierra Sands Unified School District. She currently serves as the school nurse for Burroughs High School and Mesquite High School. Mrs. Flack is passionate about helping students maintain their health and safety so they can optimize learning and reach their goals.
